How our building came to be
The story of La Maison Ralia
1880s
Saint-Laurent Building constructed in 1880s during Montreal’s major development period
2000s
Chef Helena Loureiro who operated Portus Cale, a
Portuguese restaurant combining two commercial spaces on first floor
2023
- Building purchased June 1, 2023 with vision of community uplift and traveler/professional hub
- Florence Charron of Indee Design hired (August 2023) designed of the entire building
- WVP Construction with Warren Von Panier engaged (October 2023)
- Rebuild ceremony held December 21, 2023 at winter solstice (10PM)
2024
- September 2024: Cafe opens to public as Cass Cafe
- October 2024: First hotel guest, expert in Human Design
- November 2024: Events Space opens in partnership with Altitude Connections
2025
- February 2025: Kids Club launched (weekly Sunday morning community events for parents)
- June 2025: Building construction fully completed (2-year rebuild process) and Ralia takes on operations of the entire building.
- November 2025: Human Design Experience retreat launched for coaches and entrepreneurs
- December 2025: Ralia run 24-hour staycation retreats launched for Montrealers looking for rest and recovery
2026
- February 2026: Ralia Work Well co-working events for productive, balanced, connected workdays
- May 2026: Building relaunched as La Maison Ralia with new website ralia.ca
